Conquering 90% of the known world by the age of 25, Alexander the Great led his armies through 22,000 miles of sieges and conquests in just eight years. Coming out of tiny Macedonia, Alexander's troops drove west to Egypt before moving against the mighty Persian Empire. After so many year though, Alexander's forces push him restlessly, wanting only to return home to their families. His mind never stops reaching, the desire to spread the Greek culture to the 'barbarians' in India gnawing incessantly at his soul.

But above all, Alexander of Macedon is a man for his men, and he leads them back to the safety of Babylon, regardless of it being somewhere he was told never to settle. Many enjoy the respite from constant warfare, but they are all of the same mind. Anxious and idle, Alexander's group has begun speaking out against new traditions as they try to assimilate, and their King still pushes to make their way into India. It is becoming a perpetual struggle to keep the Greeks and Persians under similar rule and mutually moving in a beneficial direction for Alexander's plans.

Rise of an Empire is an Ancient Greece & Persian play-by-post RPG set in 228 BC a year after Alexander the Great's troops defeated and took control of Persia. ROAE uses true characters from history and allows players to tweak them to fit the plot. Present and future decisions and events are AU and we do not follow a true-to-history timeline of events moving forward.
